Our expertise

A surgical team built around one nerve.

More than 600 pudendal nerve procedures performed to date. Chronic pelvic pain and pudendal neuralgia are not a sideline here — they are the only thing this centre does.

Difficult cases need precision, experience and enough time to actually listen.

How patients from New York reach a pudendal nerve surgeon

Imaging review, a call in your own time zone and an honest answer before any travel — the same route for patients in Sweden through our Nordic branch.

Most patients from New York, New Jersey and the wider United States have already seen several specialists without an answer. We begin the other way round: your MRI, prior nerve blocks and symptom timeline are reviewed remotely by Dr Renaud Bollens, and you are told plainly whether the pudendal nerve is the real source. Patients in Sweden follow the same route through our Nordic branch. Travel is the last step, never the first.

The assessment happens before you buy a ticket: imaging review, a call in your own time zone, and an honest answer about whether surgery would change anything. If surgery is appropriate, the operation is performed in our European or Dubai centre. Everything else — workup, consent and follow-up — is designed to be done from home.

  1. 1

Week 1 — New York case review

You upload your pelvic MRI, any EMG or nerve-block reports and a short symptom history. Dr Bollens reads the imaging himself and answers in writing, in English, within a few working days. Nothing is scheduled at this stage.

  2. 2

Week 2 — Video consultation, US hours

A 30-45 minute call booked in Eastern Time. We go through what the imaging shows, what your previous blocks did or did not prove, and whether decompression is realistic in your case. If it is not, we say so and suggest what to pursue at home.

  3. 3

Surgery window — one trip, planned around your work

Patients who proceed travel once. Admission, surgery and the first post-operative checks are grouped into a single stay, with the discharge summary written so a physician in New York can carry on your follow-up.

  4. 4

    After you fly home

Recovery is followed by video call at set intervals. Your notes, operative report and imaging are shared with your US pain specialist or physiotherapist so nobody has to start from scratch.

Time zone

Consultations are offered in Eastern Time, so you are not calling a surgeon at 3 a.m.

Records

US imaging on CD or via a hospital portal is accepted; we convert and read DICOM files directly.

Cost clarity

A written estimate covering surgery, hospital stay and follow-up is issued before you commit to travel.

Booking FAQ

Booking your consultation

Practical answers about the process, cost, insurance and what to expect after you get in touch.

What happens after I submit the booking form?

Our patient coordinator replies within one working day by email or WhatsApp. We'll suggest a time for an online consultation with Dr Bollens.

Is the first consultation online or in person?

Usually a video call, so you don't need to travel. We review your history and imaging, then advise whether an in-person visit at our Dubai or Belgium centre is appropriate.

Do you accept insurance?

We work with AXA, Daman, MetLife, Emirates, NAS, Mednet, Nextcare and others. Send us your policy details and we'll check coverage for you.

What information should I have ready?

A short description of your symptoms, how long they've lasted, and any previous evaluations or imaging. You can send documents securely after booking.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. All communications and medical records are treated with strict confidentiality and are only accessible to the clinical team involved in your care.
